Os Mutantes (1968)

The debut album by Os Mutantes, released in 1968, is the loudest and most playful artifact of Tropicália's psychedelic wing, full of tape manipulation, distorted guitar, and surreal humor. Made by a São Paulo trio barely out of their teens, it gave the movement an unmistakably youthful, rock-band identity. It remains a touchstone of Brazilian psychedelia.
