The Cavern Club

The Cavern Club, a converted cellar on Mathew Street in Liverpool, opened in 1957 and became the spiritual home of the Merseybeat scene. The Beatles played there hundreds of times, and it was where Brian Epstein first saw them perform. Cramped, hot, and loud, it remains the most storied venue of the entire movement.
