Tresor club opens in Berlin

The Tresor club opened in 1991 in the vault of a derelict department store in newly reunified Berlin, becoming a crucible for European techno. It booked Detroit producers regularly and helped fuse the city's sound with Berlin's emerging scene. The club's raw, concrete space gave the transatlantic exchange a physical home.
