Issued on Transmat in May 1987, the Strings of Life EP carried Derrick May's signature composition to dancefloors well beyond Detroit. Picked up by DJs in Chicago and across Europe, the release helped detonate techno's first international wave. Its catalogue number became one of the most sought-after in dance music collecting.
