Willie Brown
Willie Brown was the great accompanist of the Delta, a guitarist whose second part underpinned both Charley Patton and Son House on record and in the jukes. He recorded a small number of sides of his own, including the much-admired 'Future Blues' and 'M&O Blues,' but his deepest mark was as a partner and anchor for stronger personalities. House would later name him in song as the embodiment of the music's lost world.

Willie Brown was Charley Patton's regular second guitarist, the steady accompanist whose interlocking part filled out Patton's records and live playing. Their partnership defined the two-guitar texture that became a hallmark of the early Delta sound. Brown carried that same supporting role forward to Son House.
