Cross Road Blues

Recorded by Robert Johnson at his 1936 San Antonio session, 'Cross Road Blues' fuses urgent slide guitar with a vocal of real desperation. Later linked in legend to the story of a midnight bargain at a crossroads, the song became one of the most mythologized in all of blues. Its driving structure and imagery would echo through generations of musicians who reworked it.
