Marriage of Yamashita and Takeuchi

Tatsuro Yamashita and Mariya Takeuchi married in April 1982, joining two of the scene's central figures into a single creative partnership. Yamashita went on to produce and arrange Takeuchi's records, including the 1984 album that carried "Plastic Love." Their union became one of the most productive collaborations at the heart of city pop.
