Steve "Silk" Hurley

Steve "Silk" Hurley is the Chicago house DJ and producer who scored one of the genre's first major crossovers into the British mainstream. A radio mixer and producer, he sharpened the punchy, sample-driven side of the sound. His 1986 single "Jack Your Body" became a defining British breakthrough for house in early 1987.
