Pressing of "On and On"

In January 1984 Jesse Saunders pressed "On and On," a moment often cited as house music crossing from DJ practice into recorded form. By manufacturing an original track for sale, Saunders demonstrated that local producers could press their own records rather than relying on imported disco. The act inspired a wave of Chicago artists to do the same.
